The Danish Language
Danish is a Germanic language spoken by about 6 million people primarily in Denmark. Denmark is bordered to the south by Germany and is located south of Sweden and Norway, Denmark borders the Baltic and the North Sea. Denmark has controlled the entrance to the Baltic Sea for many hundreds of years and the water is now called the Danish straits.
Danish has official status in the Faroe Islands which are a Danish territory and is a mandatory subject in schools. For Danish translation purposes, the language is localised mainly in Denmark. Interestingly, the Danish language is also used by about 50,000 Danes located in the Schleswig-Holstein region of Germany.
Danish translation is very important in todays world as Denmark has many famous brand names including Carlsberg, Tuborg and Lurpak. The Danish architect Jørn Utzon designed the Sydney Opera House in 1957.
