" Our job is to deliver to you, our client, quality translation at an appropriate price "
Stuart Milne
Director
The Language Room Ltd
" Machine translation is not good enough as you need to understand a text to translate it: to understand its meaning, its context and its cultural background.
Inconsistent grammar, syntax which varies between Germanic and French style, a nice blend of Western Germanic, French, Latin, English, Yiddish, and Malay vocabulary plus not to forget the high context sensitivity makes Dutch a nightmare for non-native translators. "

The Dutch Language
Dutch is a Germanic language spoken by about over 30 million people as either a first or second language. Dutch translation is important as Dutch is firstly the official language in the Netherlands with speakers also living in Belgium and Suriname and former Dutch colonies.
Geographically, The Netherlands are in a very important political place. For Dutch translations, the European Court is based in The Hague. It borders the North sea and Belgium and Germany and its capital and seat of government is Amsterdam.
Dutch is the parent language of Afrikaans, one of the official languages of South Africa and also widely understood in Namibia. The two languages Dutch and Afrikaans are mutually intelligible. Nonetheless, for Dutch translation purposes these are separate languages and have some separate spelling standards, dictionaries and language regulators. It is the Dutch Language Union that controls actions of the Dutch, Flemish and Surinamese authorities in all areas of language and language policy.
