The Norwegian Language

The Kingdom of Norway is the western part of Scandinavia. It stretches from the Skagerrak Strait opposite Denmark to its north-eastern tip which borders Russia. Most of is border to the east is with Sweden. The fjords of Norway are all on the western side facing the North Atlantic Ocean.

There are two forms of Norwegian, Bokmål and Nynorsk of which Bokmål is the predominant form and is spoken by nearly 90% of the population. Bokmål is the most common language of Norwegian translations as is the form of Norwegian taught outside the country.
