Apostille translations

The purpose of an apostille is to certify translated documents for official use in other countries.

First, your document must be certified and notarised by the translation agency who performed the translation. It will then be sent to the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) who will supply the apostille. This takes between 1 to 3 weeks, but might take longer depending on the time of the year (holiday, etc.)

Once your documents have been apostilled, they will be sent directly to you by post.

You can request a tracking service if required.

It’s important to note that the specific process and requirements for obtaining an apostille translation may vary depending on the type of document, the destination country, and other factors. It’s advisable to consult with The Language Room for guidance.

Documents commonly requiring apostilles include birth certificates, marriage certificates, adoption papers, educational diplomas, and general legal documents for use outside the UK.

Once an apostille is attached to a document, it is generally accepted as valid for use in any other member country of the Hague Convention of 1961, without the need for further authentication.

Your translation will be performed by one of our qualified experienced native translators guaranteeing you an accurate and high quality apostille translation.
